Rushing through the day seems to be the norm for most people, but this is one thing that you can do that will only take 2-3 minutes. Have you ever heard of dry Skin Brushing, (SB)? I first learned about it when I became a massage therapist 20 yrs. ago. Brushing increasing blood flow and circulation, removes toxins, and stimulates the lymphatic system. This system is closest to the top layer of the skin, so you don’t have to brush hard. The bristles on the brush are pretty firm so your skin will turn red.
I would suggest you do it first thing in the morning on dry skin because you’re stimulating the body, waking it up. Shower and moisturize after SB. If you shower in the evening, SB in the morning then moisturize. I use shea butter or organic coconut oil.

You can also go to the health food store and pick up a brush. Below are detailed instructions. It will only add a few minutes to your routine in the morning.
This is the sequence.
- Use small circulating movements, always moving toward the heart.
- Start at the heart and move to the right side of the upper body.
- Move down the chest to the low stomach.
- Brush the neck and shoulder area.
- Go down the upper, then lower back.
- Go back up to the shoulders, down the arm, to the hands. Do both sides.
- Brush the low back, buttocks, continue down the back of each leg.
- Come to the front of the legs, go down each leg to the top of the foot, continue to sole of the feet. You’re finished.
